Town Council consists of a mayor and six alderman elected for a four year term.

Mayor Wolfe was born and raised in Grenfell. He is the proud father of 3 children, Gaven, Raeanna and Darienn. He and his wife Jana choose to continue to make Grenfell home because of the great small town atmosphere the community possesses.  Rod and his wife built and run a successful and growing business in Grenfell.  In his spare time, Rod enjoys spending time with his family and fixing project vehicles. He is no stranger to local government as this is his 17th year representing the residents of Grenfell on Town Council.  This is his first term as Mayor. Rod chose to run for the position of Mayor because of his love for his town and now, in the role of Mayor, he is excited to work with the dedicated team of men and women who make up Grenfell’s Council and provide leadership that will help ensure the Town of Grenfell progresses into the future as an important economic center while maintaining all the qualities of its friendly integrity.

Councillor Thomlinson was elected to his first term on council on November 23rd, 2016. He is currently serving as chair of the Land Use Planning, Development and Economic Development Committee and vice-chair of the Community Services Committee. Tyler was born and raised in Grenfell where he lives with his wife Cindy, daughter Peyton and son Will. He is a co-owner of and pharmacist at Saleski Pharmacy in Grenfell, where he has worked since his graduation from the University of Saskatchewan in 2008. Actively involved in recreation, he is currently the President of Grenfell Minor Ball, and a manager/coach/player for the Grenfell Gems Senior Men’s Fastball Club. Tyler ran for Council to gain a better understanding of how government works, and is excited to play any small part available in giving back to a town that has given so much over his 32 years.


Patty Cole

Councillor Cole fell in love with this community the first time she came to Grenfell in 2004 and didn’t hesitate at the opportunity to move here with her husband Mel in 2009. Together, they have 5 children. Patty has been self-employed for most of her career and brings a strong background in finance and business. Patty is an accountant and operates Pipestone Accounting Services. She serves as Treasurer of the Grenfell Beach Association and the Grenfell Business Incentive Co-operative. She is a past President of Sandhills Credit Union in Leader, SK and has served on numerous other boards in that community in addition to the Saskatchewan Five Pin Bowing Association and Women Entrepreneurs. As a member of Council, Patty is excited to be a part of ensuring Grenfell is ready for the future.


Ken Hamnett

Councillor Hamnett and his wife Marilyn have resided in Grenfell for 30 years where they raised their 3 children and now have a family that includes 7 grandchildren. Ken enjoys hunting and fishing as well as being at the lake with the grandkids. He is involved with Grenfell’s Royal Canadian Legion and the Grenfell Wildlife Federation in addition to being a long-time volunteer fireman for the Town of Grenfell. This is Councillor Hamnett’s second time to the Council table, the first was in the 90’s and early 2000’s before his work with CP took him on the road. He is currently the chair of the Community Services Committee and vice-chair of the Environmental Services Committee. Now retired, Hamnett is excited to be back on Town Council as he feels that he stills has more to give to Grenfell to ensure it has a bright and positive future.


Constance MacKenzie

Councillor Constance MacKenzie brings a new voice to Grenfell’s Town Council, serving her first term as a Town Councillor and as chair of the Environmental Service Committee. She has been a Grenfell resident for twenty-eight years, having moved to the community to continue her teaching career with her son, Andrew who was starting grade two. A retired teacher, Constance has held the positions of school teacher, elementary school principal and full time grain farmer. She received her Bachelor of Education degree and later, in 2009, a Master in Education degree, both from the University of Saskatchewan. She was nominated by her colleagues and subsequently was awarded the 1999 S.A.C.E. provincial award acknowledging “Teacher Excellence” for “outstanding use of computers in education”. Constance is excited to bring her experience and interest in forwarding the Town’s future economic growth, caring for Grenfell’s senior citizens and helping to continue the Town’s progress in becoming more environmentally conscious.


Wes Overand

Councillor Overand and his wife Ellen Rae Overand have been proud residents of Grenfell since August of 2015. Parents of 2 and grandparents of 4, they chose Grenfell for the location, reverse osmosis water supply and its’ appearance as a Communities in Bloom award winner. Wes has worked his entire life in agriculture, initially operating a dairy farm for 15 years. Over the last 25 years he has worked in various capacities in the crop insurance field in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He is currently an auditor/adjuster. He holds a certificate in professional management from the University of Regina. Bringing previous experience as Councillor and Deputy Mayor from his hometown of Elkhorn, Manitoba to the table, Wes is excited about developing Grenfell’s future to its’ full potential.

Councillor Thiessen is a lifetime resident of Grenfell and proud of it. He has been happily married to wife Shelly for almost 24 years. They are parents of two beautiful daughters Madison and Morgan and a soon to be son-in-law, Danny. Corey is currently a Realtor and Insurance Broker and in his free time enjoys almost all sports, camping and boating with his family, and spending time in his back yard working on his lawn. By serving on Council, Corey is excited to help move Grenfell in the right direction towards a sustainable, highly desired place to not only raise a family, but to do business as well.
